Organizers of a recall effort against the St. Tammany Parish coroner say they believe they'll be successful.
Dr. Christopher Tape was accused but never tried for sexual assault of a child in New Mexico in 2001.
Tape says he has no intention of stepping down.
Recall organizers and volunteers say they have 1,500 verified signatures so far, and they're confident that they'll collect enough to meet a signature deadline in October.
