Several bridges in the New Orleans area are closed after failing safety inspections.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development closed the Seabrook Bridge in Orleans Parish because of a deficient column. It may not reopen until August.

In St. Bernard Parish, DOTD shut down the approach ramp at Chalmette Ferry.

The Bayou Bienvenue Bridge on Paris Road in New Orleans is down to one lane southbound.

Full closures are expected on the bridge in a repair project that may take up to two years.
