The executive leadership of the New Orleans Police Department may soon come under an external investigation.

On Monday, the City Council's Criminal Justice Committee discussed hiring a New Orleans law firm to conduct an investigation of up to 30 days into three complaints against the NOPD.

Two of the complaints were against the executive team, and the third was against an individual officer.

Names and other details haven't been disclosed.

The committee didn't vote on the law firm's proposed contract.
