Saints "Part Ways" With OC Pete Carmichael, Two Other Assistant Coaches

Changes are coming to New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen's staff after the team announced Tuesday it would "part ways" with offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael, senior offensive assistant Bob Bicknell and wide receivers coach Kodi Burns.

"I would like to thank Pete, Bob and Kodi for their service to the New Orleans Saints and to this coaching staff," said Allen in a statement posted on the team's website. "These types of decisions are never easy to come to, but are necessary as we move forward."

"I would especially like to thank Pete for his contributions to this staff for 18 seasons," added Allen. "I have a tremendous amount of respect for the job he has done and as a colleague."

According to Fox Sports, the Saints finished 14th in the NFL in total offense, averaging 337 yards. They were 11th in passing yards, averaging just under 235 yards. In terms of rushing, the Saints were 21st in the league with an average of 102.5 yards.

The Saints finished with second in the NFC South this season with a 9-8 record, missing the playoffs.
