Parade fees in Slidell are doubling as of Mardi Gras 2025.
The Slidell City Council passed the ordinance by a unanimous 9-0 vote at Tuesday's meeting.
Krewes will pay $4,000 for day parades and $8,000 for night parades.
Some krewes are unhappy with the changes.
Council members also voted to make the 2023 parade schedule permanent. The new schedule moves the Krewe of Titans to the first Friday of the parade lineup.
