The fire at a Marathon Petroleum refinery that caused several people to be evacuated from their homes last week is out.

Officials in St. John the Baptist Parish say crews extinguished the last hot spots of the blaze on Monday.

The fire started in a storage tank last Friday, and led to an evacuation order for a two-mile radius around the facility for about four hours.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Parish officials also announced Monday the Marathon community assistance hotline at (866) 601-5800 will now be open between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
