The New Orleans City Council is overriding Mayor LaToya Cantrell's veto of the ordinance that prevents her from using an Upper Pontalba Apartment owned by the city.

The council voted five-two Thursday in favor of moving forward with the ordinance that was initially passed earlier this month.

Cantrell was accused of violating city policies regarding the use of the apartment, including overnight stays.

The apartment will now be rented out to the public.
