A New Orleans city councilman is calling on city and state police to investigate an illegal stunt driving event that happened last weekend.
Masked stunt drivers shut down Elysian Fields Avenue near Gentilly Boulevard, doing donuts and driving recklessly in a crowd of people.
District D City Council member Eugene Green released a statement that called the event "appalling."
City ordinance says participants or spectators of the events can be hit with fines, jail time, and vehicle impoundment.
