New Orleans City Council To Discuss Homeless Encampments

Those who feed the homeless in New Orleans could face punishment under a proposed ordinance.

A city council committee will meet today to discuss restrictions on feeding those who live in homeless encampments under overpasses.

City officials are worried unregulated food distribution is causing problems, like littering and rodents.

Those who work with the homeless, though, tell Fox 8 this could remove a vital food source from those who are already hungry most of the time.
