Gov. John Bel Edwards says he wants the state to have more control over what THC products are being sold over the counter in Louisiana.

A 2022 state law allows adults to consume hemp-based products, but may have accidentally legalized recreational THC products that get users high.

Edwards meets regularly with lawmakers to discuss how clarify the law so that it can be better enforced.

Right now, 2,500 retailers sell the THC products statewide.
