NOPD: 728 Cars Stolen In New Orleans In The First Four Weeks Of 2023

The weekly crime report from the New Orleans Police Department Analytics Unit says car thefts in January were up 118 percent from a year ago.

In the first 28 days of 2023, there were 728 auto thefts in New Orleans, up from 334 in the first four weeks of 2022.

When carjackings, attempted carjackings, and attempted auto thefts are included, the number of auto-theft crimes is 796.
