Sen. Bill Cassidy says the federal infrastructure law will benefit Louisiana's coastal communities and the oil industry.

The Republican lawmaker met with business, civic and political leaders in Thibodaux on Monday.

He said the trillion-dollar law will provide funds for affordable high-speed Internet, flood mitigation, offshore energy production, and disaster recovery.

Lafourche Parish is still recovering from Hurricane Ida a year ago.
