A woman is in custody after reportedly leaving her 16-day-old baby inside a hot car in a Walmart parking lot in Slidell.
Police responded about 10 a.m. Thursday to a report of an intoxicated woman in the store on Northshore Boulevard who had left her baby in the car.
Officers arrested 37-year-old Ashley Kennedy of Minden, who had also been involved in a hit-and-run earlier in the day.
She's charged with child endangerment, DWI, and hit-and-run.
The baby is in custody of the Louisiana Department of Children & Family Services.
