Louisiana residents can once more file their unemployment claims through the Louisiana Workforce Commission's HiRE site.

An attempted malware attack had caused the website to go offline but the agency announced it was back online on Tuesday.

The attempted attack also affected similar websites in up to 40 other states. Officials say no data breach resulted.

The commission says new vendor security features will cause unemployment payments to take up to 36 hours to process.
