A suspect is in custody and accused of a fatal hit-and-run near Covington on Monday night.
St. Tammany Parish deputies say a pickup truck hit Murphy Majoria around 8 p.m. on Helenbirg Road near Joyce Court.
The truck left the scene afterward.
Majoria later died at Lakeview Regional Medical Center.
Deputies say Shannon Sherlock was identified as the driver of the pickup.
Sherlock was arrested on charges of felony hit and run, negligent homicide, driving with a suspended license, and reckless operation.
