A home belonging to Louisiana's Lieutenant Governor has been burglarized and set on fire.

Republican Billy Nungesser says somebody broke into the house, put the kitchen drawers on the stove and set them ablaze.

His collection of sports memorabilia was also ransacked, including signed jerseys from Drew Brees and Pete Rose, along with political memorabilia and liquor being stolen.

The house is south of New Orleans along the Mississippi River.

The flames and smoke damaged the kitchen, but he says the house is not a total loss.

Nunguesser thinks DNA evidence may have been left behind, claiming blood was found throughout the house.
