Drought conditions are getting worse in south Louisiana.

In January and February, there were just over four inches of rain, as opposed to the usual average of nearly 11 inches, and forecasters see no significant rain in the near future.

Last year was the third-wettest on record in Baton Rouge, complete with a hurricane, but parts of the Baton Rouge metro area are under severe drought conditions.

New Orleans and the surrounding area are also experiencing abnormally dry conditions.
