St. Tammany Parish officials say a drug trafficking suspect is under arrest after a traffic stop on I-12 resulted in a major marijuana bust.
A deputy pulled over a pickup truck with Texas license plates about 9 p.m. Sunday on I-12 eastbound near Highway 1088.
Deputies searched the truck and found 46 bags with 51 pounds of pot, along with nearly $1,500 in cash.
Jorge Valeriano, 30, was arrested for possession with intent to distribute, possession of proceeds from drug deals, and a couple of moving violations.
