DSNAP Extended By Three Days Because Of Heavy Demand

The Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program for people affected by Hurricane Ida is being extended for three days.

The Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services received federal approval to extend the operation because of the large number of applicants for DSNAP benefits.

The USDA Food and Nutrition Service has given the go-ahead for an extension from October 11-13.

During those three days, residents of the 25 eligible parishes who haven't yet applied may call in and do so.
