The Better Business Bureau is warning residents about scammers after child tax credits.

Officials say scammers have been calling residents pretending to "help" them get their payments earlier, get more money or commit identity theft.

The bureau is asking those who receive these messages via call, text, DM or email to ignore them.

Additionally, residents are asked not give out any personal information including social security numbers or bank information.
