New Orleans City Council and Jefferson Parish say they have reached an agreement to redevelop the West End.

On Thursday, New Orleans City Council unanimously approved the same cooperative endeavor agreement that the Jefferson Parish Council had already passed.

There are no current plans for development, but officials say the new agreement will make it easier for developers to begin proposing ideas.

Members of both Councils say they want to see options for the area include cultural, recreational, economic, and even housing options.
