Chalmette Ferry Lodged Under Dock After Breaking Loose During Zeta

St. Bernard Parish officials say the Chalmette Ferry is lodged under a dock at Chalmette Refining after breaking loose yesterday.

Parish President Guy McInnis said Hurricane Zeta hit the area with winds between 90 and 120-miles-per-hour and left a large path of damage.

McInnis added they are assessing the status of the ferry, and at least two main roads into the Parish were impassable.

Several residents also reported having lost the roofs of their houses and other buildings during the storm.
