Possible Cyberattack Detected By Tangipahoa Schools System

Officials with the Tangipahoa Parish Public School System say they detected a possible cyber-security issue over the weekend.

The district shut down phones and emails yesterday as IT worked on securing their systems.

The threat appeared to be similar to ones experienced by three northern Louisiana school districts last week, which also shut down their phone lines and locked school data.

There is no timetable for how long the computer network will need to be down before students and teachers can access it again.
