NOPD: 63 Picked Up For Violating Summer Juvenile Curfew

New Orleans police say 63 juveniles have been picked up so far for violating the summer curfew.

Of those, nine are said to have been sent to the Covenant House while most are driven home by parents or guardians.

The curfew ordinance went into effect on June 3rd, making sure those 16-years old and younger had to be home by 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and by 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

City officials say the curfew is in response to an increase in juvenile crimes.
