Jefferson Parish President Mike Yenni is forcing a sexual battery trial to come to a halt right after getting started.
Right after the jury selection in the case against Rafael Chincilla, who is accused of sexual battery of a child under 13, the jury took a lunch break. Yenni crossed paths with the jurors and chatted with one of them, leading the judge to declare a mistrial.
No new trial date has been set.
