We now know the name of a Jefferson Parish Correctional Center inmate who died Saturday after being found unresponsive in her cell.
Authorities say 29-year-old Brittney Durell was being housed in an on-site medical facility at the jail for a pre-existing condition.
She was pronounced dead at the hospital but her cause of death has not been announced.
Durell was incarcerated on charges of theft and drug possession dating back to 2016.
