There's a new manufacturing facility set to be built in Ascension Parish.
Governor John Bel Edwards was among those on hand yesterday in Geismar for the announcement that Germany-based VEGA Americas Incorporated will invest more than $22 million in the project.
It'll involve a 100,000 sq. ft. plant employing upwards of 120 people with the average annual salary expected to be in the ballpark of $52,000.
VEGA provides measurement sensors to other manufacturers around the world.
