State police are crediting tips from the public with the arrest of a man suspected of striking and killing a pedestrian in St. John the Baptist Parish on October 20th.
Troopers arrested 28-year-old Charles Combetta of LaPlace on Monday night, charging him with felony hit-and-run and obstruction of justice in the death of 55-year-old Danny Simoneaux, also of LaPlace.
Investigators say they determined that Combetta had removed and destroyed parts of his pickup truck that were damaged in the crash on LA-628.
