The New Orleans Sewage & Water Board is being urged to halt water shut-offs of delinquent bill payers.
The City Council voted unanimously Thursday in favor of a resolution that urges the board to stop the disconnections until the new permanent executive director comes on board next month.
Thousands of water customers have been targeted for disconnection.
There's no indication at this point that the S&WB will adhere to the council's request and has no legal obligation to do so.
