Investigators with the Department of Corrections say a prison officer is under arrest after trying to smuggle drugs into the State Penitentiary at Angola.
Authorities today say Angola officers found nearly five ounces of pot and synthetic marijuana hidden in a sandwich in a vehicle on prison grounds belonging to Jeffrey Days, who has been booked on possession with intent to this distribute.
He resigned from the department where he had worked as a corrections sergeant for nearly two years.
