NOPD's Harrison Speaking Out On Illegally Obtained Firearms

The New Orleans Police Superintendent says punishments aren't severe enough for those illegally acquiring and carrying weapons.

Michael Harrison spoke at a national conference in Washington D.C. last week about guns in big cities in the U.S.

He says stolen and illegally concealed weapons were often behind the nearly 7,000 murders seen in New Orleans over the 46 years.

In just the past couple of years, New Orleans Police has seized almost 4,200 of the illegally obtained firearms.
