NOLA City Council Investigating Paid-Actors Scandal

Entergy will be picking up the tab as the New Orleans City Council launches an intense investigation of paid actors being used to support the utility's successful bid for approval of a new power plant.

The panel unanimously approved the probe at Thursday's meeting.

Entergy officials have admitted that a PR firm it hired opted on its own to hire actors through California-based Crowds on Demand to attend council meetings on the project.

Council President Jason Williams says the actors created a "false image of public support" for the power plant.
