Former Northshore DA Investigator Sentenced

A former investigator with the district attorney's office in St. Tammany and Washington parishes is going to prison.

U.S. Attorney Duane Evans says a three-year sentence was given to Michael Cotton yesterday.

Cotton was accused and later admitted to using his position to get sexual favors from women who knew people who were in trouble or were in trouble themselves.

Some of the cases involved getting somebody a reduced bond while one case involved a woman trying to keep her children.
