NYC Subway Bombing Suspect Charged With Supporting Act of Terror

The man accused of bombing a New York City subway on Monday has been charged with supporting an act of terrorism according to a tweet from the New York Police Department.

The NYPD said Akayed Ullah, the suspect accused of detonating a crude pipe bomb in a NYC subway system, was charged Tuesday morning for making a terroristic threat, supporting an act of terrorism and criminal possession of a weapon.

Federal charges are expected to be filed later today.

Commuters resumed using the passageway between the Port Authority bus terminal and the Times Square Subway station Tuesday morning just one day after the explosion. Bomb-sniffing dogs along with an increased police presence were visible as security remained tight around the city.
