A New Orleans woman will be sentenced in January after being convicted by a federal jury yesterday for Medicare fraud.

Sandra Parkman was found guilty on charges that include healthcare fraud and the payment and receipt of kickbacks

The Department of Justice says Parkman and her boss, Tracy Brown, carried out a plot to defraud Medicare out of more than $3 million by billing the agency for equipment such as power wheelchairs that patients didn't need or want.
