The process to remove the Robert E. Lee monument is beginning and the mayor will be discussing the issue with the public.
Thursdday, crews began preparations to remove the 130-year-old statue. It is the last of four Confederate monuments to be brought down and relocated by order of Mayor Landrieu.
Landrieu will be offering a public address on the monument issue this afternoon at Gallier Hall. Doors open at 2 p.m.
