State House Approves Bill To Keep Monuments In Place

A bill preventing monument removal that passed the Louisiana House is on its way to the State Senate.

HB 71 sponsored by Shreveport Republican Thomas Carmody prevents the removal of any U.S. war commemorative monument including those of the Confederacy.

All 24 African-American state representatives walked out of the session after the 65-31 vote approval Monday.
