No Location Yet For Displaying Confederate Monuments

There is no place yet established to publicly display the Confederate monuments being removed from New Orleans.

Thomas Payne, who directs the Jefferson Davis Presidential Library on the Beauvoir estate in Biloxi, Mississippi, tells NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune his organization has been in contact with the city. Payne says Beauvoir has plenty of room and would be glad to have one or all of the statues.

NOLA.com reported Thursday the city has also been in contact with Washington and Lee University in Virginia as well as the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC, but no decision has been made.
