No More Camping Overnight On Mandeville Lakefront

The city of Mandeville says overnight camping is no longer allowed along the lakefront.

The revised city ordinance comes as a result of complaints from residents that people enjoying the area during the day, were just sleeping there all night, some in sleeping bags.

Mayor Don Villere says the lakefront isn't the place for sleepovers and recommends folks camp in nearby Fountainbleau State Park instead.
