Man Eligible For Parole 40 Years After Murder

The parole board is now considering the fate of a 55-year-old man who's been incarcerated since being convicted of murder at 16.

Monday, a judge ruled Ervin Dorsey is eligible for parole, and now the board has to decide if parole will be granted.

Dorsey was sentenced to life without parole in the same New Orleans courthouse for the death of a bar operator during a 1978 hold up.

Since then, a series of U.S. Supreme Court rulings determined automatic life without parole for juvenile offenders is unconstitutional.
