A former teacher at Destrehan High School has pleaded guilty to charges arising from a sexual relationshp she had with a female student.
27-year-old Kimberly Naquin entered guilty pleas to charges of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and sexual contact with a student.
But Naquin will spend no time in prison. Judge June Berry Darensburg of 24th Judicial District Court suspended Naquin's sentence.
Instead, Naquin will remain on active probation for five years and will have to register as a sex offender for 15 years. She also was ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation and to stay away from the student.
Prosecutors say the sexual relationship began in October 2014, when the student was 16, and ended in January 2016 after a relative of the student called police.
