A driver who struck and killed a pedestrian Wednesday in the Bywater is facing several charges.

Steven Johnson, 32, was cited for driving with a suspended driver’s license, driving without registration, driving without vehicle insurance and driving with a switched license plate.

Police said the female victim was crossing St. Claude Avenue when the driver of an Infiniti traveling westbound on St. Claude Avenue struck her as she stepped into the vehicle’s lane of travel.
