Entergy reports that the storm that moved through the area Tuesday, wasn't as bad as feared and produced only scattered power outages.
The company reports that power was restored to the majority of 8,000 customers affected within a couple of hours.
"We definitely caught a break," said Dennis Dawsey, vice president of customer service.
Entergy assembled a team of nearly 2,900 workers to respond to a storm that forecasters had predicted could bring as much as 3 to 5 inches of snow and over a quarter of an inch of ice to communities along the I-10 corridor and surrounding areas in south Louisiana and Mississippi.
The company had warned customers that it could take 3 to 5 days to restore service.
