A 17-member Community Evaluation Commission met in New Orleans Friday to receive bid proposals from contractors interested in working on the $546 million Louis Armstrong Airport terminal project.

Commission Co-Chair Oliver Thomas says the group received written proposals from two teams of contractors. He says the proposals will be judged on how well they provide good jobs, career ladders and address the black jobs crisis.

"We're gonna review the proposals, grade them. We'll decide if one company is more favorable. We'll decide if none of them meet the requirements that we're trying to set out. We're gonna release that information publicly," Thomas told 99.5 WRNO.

Thomas says the commission also plans to release its findings or recommendations to the New Orleans Aviation Board.
